Hi- I have a few questions that might help other viewers. It’s been 3 years since you posted the video and I have seen your video regarding Orijen, but have any other dog foods increased or decreased in quality from this list? Also, have any brands gained popularity that you would recommend? I am curious about Instinct freeze dried raw + kibble and Nulo. Also, I have heard that Diamond brand food is heavily linked to cases of nutritionally mediated cardiomyopathy- do you have any comment about the brand in general Or were you aware of this already? Lastly, many nutritionists I’ve read that don’t provide recommendations but rather a guide to choosing food steer clear of ingredients and focus on peer reviews studies and trials, companies who fully staff a nutritionist and foods that are WSAVA/AAFCO approved. The average consumer might find figuring that out difficult since companies don’t always respond / offer this information on their websites. Are these considerations necessary?

The other day, this guy's dog passed on after a life of about 17 Mos. He had a seizure. Noted the dog ate about 30 mind. earlier. He fed the dog 'pet food.'

I just found this out! I am going to stop as soon as I run out of both ORIJEN and Acana cat dry food. I mix them with other ones but I have heard many complaints now about cats throwing up and getting diarrhea. I am so upset for this is a constant that keeps happening over and over again. This sucks for this company. Mars also owns veterinary hospitals which is why going to the vets is now outrageous too! They also own Nutro which changed a lot. I am stopping them because they made my 10 month old kittens too fat. They are almost 20 pounds! I never had this happen with rescues. Now I have to rethink the whole mix I give them!

I have 2 Boston Terriers both a year old under 12lbs i currently feed them small breed baby blue. What is the best food to feed them? They do not get people food. I had read some foods contribute to tear stains can you help me please? Thank you

Raw meat is the best diet with variety of meats. I feed my large dog raw meat three times daily since he was a puppy, he is 17 years old now and 45kg healthy. It’s all a gimmick these dog foods and there all processed even the high end dry kibble.

These companies will never admit that they purposely add an ingredient to cause Cancer !! Im going through it right now. My dog eats grain free food ,only wetfood at that and still got mammary tumors !!

I don’t think you’ve once answered what university you went to in order to get degree focused in pet nutrition. Without confirming those credentials, your opinion is as useful as the crackhead near a dollar tree giving advice.

Have they ruled out melamine contamination? My understanding is that the AAFCO requirements for testing covers protein, fiber, fat, moisture, but I admit this is not an area of expertise for me. Depending upon the test for protein, melamine has been used nefariously to fake a higher level of protein. So I definitely would be looking at supply chain and ingredient origins AND testing methodology.

I hate that when Taste of the Wild says "buffalo" they're actually talking Water Buffalo...yet they show a Bison on the bag..and sprinkle in a handful of it to stay legal..thats misleading if you ask me

My dog died last year. I would give her only food from these companies. We were so careful with what we gave her. She had all the symptoms on the list before she died. 😢

Hmm the three best healthy vet recommended brands at the bottom. Ya think ill stick with board certified vet nutritionists recommendations instead of your online made up pet nutrition whatever.

Fed chicken breast everytime and still having allergy😢

We are a Stella and Chewy family. For the past 9 Months my American Bulldog was on natural balance due to needing a low fat diet to help him loose weight for his tplo surgery and due to stomach infections. We just switched him back to S and C. He had been on it for 2 yrs prior to diet. We like Stella and Chewy over Primal because twice he has gotten stomach infections while have the Primal Pattie’s as a topper. The vet thinks the Primal is the problem. So when we got ready to switch him back to a better dog food we went with S and C. My boy has allergies to poultry. Natural balance while a good food and helped my boy loose weight, it’s been a constant problem with ear infections. It’s not the grains but vet thinks it’s the added yeast in the food. We are glad to be part of Stella and Chewy. We feed the beef with ancient grains. I would love to try the raw coated kibble one but it’s super hard to find in Alaska.

I know that preparing food dor our dog or feeding raw is a healthy way to go. We are travelers and we have a tiny fridge, no constant meat source, etc. What food or a way if feeding our aussie you would suggest?

QUESTION! First of all thank you so much for the video. We have three dogs that have been doing great on Castor and Pollux dog food for years and years. One of our dogs lived to 17 on this food healthily, we have a 15-year-old pup who has eaten nothing but Castor and pullox and she is going strong and still chasing squirrels with no meds or dysplasia or anything.. Now they’ve discontinued our dog food, 😢 we have a few bags we’ve hoarded, but are looking for good parallel to that dog food. Do you have any suggestions?

As someone who claims to be a Pet Nutritionist, you never mention Taurine, which is important to cats heart health or Carrageenen, which is a known carcinogenic. If any of your Cheif's Kiss foods, have that in it, its an auto peepee poopoo, i'm sorry. Also, actually a quick google, will tell you that 'meat by-product' is organ meat. Like Lung, brain, heart, blood, bone... All sorts of things that contain taurine. It cannot be road kill, or hooves, hair or anything like that. So while I disagree on Royal Canain on being peepee poopoo, I also dunno if its really Cheif's Kiss because I don't know the rest of the ingredence. So if it says chicken by-product... Its probably like chicken brain, heart lung, their bone and blood. Why do you have a hate on for animal-by-product?

Are you ranking it based on percentage of dog dna (as in from the killed dogs rendered into ingredients ..?) how is any dog trainer / nutritionist not even talking about thi ?

Dogs eat meat not wheat. But we think its cheaper so we forget this. But over the life of the dog and vet costs meat is not so expensive. My Jack Russel lived till 21 and my kelpie lived till 19. They were both very healthy all their lives, The JR was a rat dog and i charged him out at % $100 an hour.

Is there some reason you have to add raw bones and meat from a pet food company? Why not just supplement with human grade meat and ordinary bones from the butcher?
